Changing Times
Posted by: site admin @ 11:35 am

The new buzz words ‘Changing Times and Stimulus’ are words used  everyday now.  A new President in Office and starting out with a monumental task at hand so changes are what we need.  With these new changes that are in the works and the new Stimulus package just signed by the President something good has to happen.  We are banking on it and have followed suit.  We have redesigned our website and approach.  We want to help Americans get back to work.  It just helps us all.  Our new approach to this is to offer FREE placement for the first candidate that we place with each new registered company.  With the cost of doing business and the decline in staff these days, it just makes sense to use a service like ours.  We are only asking for a small fee billable once a month and we will place your first job posistion for free.  We are confident that you will come back to us to fill other positions. When you do, the fee is reduced from what we would normally charge and is negotiable.  What do you have to lose. It is a great deal and maybe just maybe we can help you find the perfect match for your job position. We have also decided that when a registered company comes back to us to fill additional job positions, we will give 10% of that fee for the second placment, to a local charity. How great is that?

We need a Bailout for the jobless

Well it’s January 2009, almost ready for the changing of the guard. How soon after that will things start to change? What will it take for businesses to start moving again?  There is some work going on but for the most part everyone is waiting to see what’s next or what the other will do.  Right now it would seem, is the best time for construction starts. Material prices are down, fuel is manageable, and I am sure that subcontractors and suppliers are hungry now and willing to lower their bids.  Someone is going to realize this and things will begin to pick up.  Can everyone hold out till then?   We are trying to do our part in all of this by offering reduced rates for our services, free advertisements, and even free service if you are within 150 miles of our location for the first placement.  All it takes is to sign up with us, there is no risk to use us unless you hire and then risk is minimal as the candidates work history and references are checked and we partner with our candidates that we present in order to get to know them and what it is that they believe in, want, and need, in order to minimize risk to you the employer.

Help us help the economy and put someone back to work.

We recently placed a candidate with a company in Utah and as we usually do, we asked for input about his experience with us.  He had some great things to say and we want to share them with you.  I want to especially thank my partner for all of her tireless efforts on the the behalf of our clients and candidates.  I know that there are a lot of clients that don’t relish working with recruiters but have to some times out of necessity.  I know some candidates find recruiters less than helpful.  We are hoping to change that view of our company, at least.  Recieving the following kinds of comments really enforces that we are going beyond what is percieved as “they are just a recruiter”.

My family and I are very excited about moving to SLC. I was very impressed with the people and the operation at Alder. I would like to say this is my first experience working with a placement agency in in my whole working career. Michele was a great help in finding the right job match for me and also finding the right employee for Alder. I believe she wanted both myself and my potential employer to “gel” or to be on the same level with no surprises. Before I ever spoke to Alder, Michele gave me a very detailed job description that was right on.

I am very happy with the outcome I had with your company. I will give my highest recommendation to any job seekers or employers

CG

Thank you, and we hope that you prosper and enjoy your new career at Alder.

C-SRS UPDATE

We have settled into our new home in Redmond and feel very welcomed here in Oregon. We are joining the Chamber of Commerce and hope to become a part of the economic growth that Redmond is still experiencing. The growth here in Redmond is still welcomed by all its residents and has been planned very carefully by the City of Redmond.

Construction projects are still being awarded to local GC companies thus keeping the dollars here in this community. Unlike some larger cities in which an out-of-state company is awarded the project, brings in their out-of-state staff, completes the project and then leave as swiftly as they came.

It is our goal to work directly with the local GC companies and when they are awarded these projects they can turn to us for presentation and placement of qualified candidates to join their team. They are then able to concentrate on getting this team to work rather than searching for that team. It is our commitment to present these companies with local candidates, which again supports the economy of our community.

To our candidates, please continue to send us your resume and tell us what type of position you are seeking, the salary you desire, and the geographical area you prefer to work in.

To our dedicated clients, please continue to turn to us for your placement needs. We will continue to present you with qualified candidates who will become a part of your team.

Thank you again to all of our candidates and clients who remain supportive of our company.   You believe in our philosophy and our unique and personal approach to matching clients and candidates. Sustaining relationships based on trust and integrity are of the utmost importance to us. Although we are planting roots in Redmond, Oregon we remain commited to all of our clients in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona.

Open Positions in Today’s Market
Posted by: Mich @ 7:50 pm

I wanted to take a few moments to address some trends we are finding in today’s construction market.  As all of you know, construction jobs are becoming harder and harder to find let alone secure.  Construction companies are in the same predicament with not having the financing to keep the employees they have while trying to obtain new projects.  Once a project is complete, if they do not have more work on the books, lay offs are eminent.  Even the biggest companies are facing layoffs.  Companies that could pay salaries while negotiating for new projects are finding this is no longer feasible.

Projects are being shut down prior to completion due to lack of funding.  The work force is then laid off.  The projects then sit there deteriorating.  Developers are losing their investments and don’t want to take any more risks.  Banks have their hands full bailing themselves out of the housing foreclosure crisis and won’t finance GC that once had no problem obtaining the financing.

Now for the good news…..

Projects that are in the middle of deterioration are now being handed over to Drywall GC to either remediate the mold, dry rot, or simply complete the drywall before mold or dry rot occurs.  These GCs are now looking for Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and drywall laborers to get these jobs done.  If you have a background in drywall, mold remediation, dry rot abatement, or inspection WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU.  Whether it be commercial or residential, your knowledge and expertise is needed.  We want to hear from you today.

Please send us your resume, desired salary and geographical area of preference and we will match you with our clients.

Making the move

We are making the move to Oregon this week!  To our candidates, please keep sending us your resumes and career goals!  Keep the emails coming, there may be a delay in our response due to our transition, but we will get back to you.  We have received great feedback about our approach in this tough construction market, and we are so appreciative of that feedback.  To our candidates and clients, we would really like to hear some of your thoughts about job hunting and candidate searching in today’s market, what you like about having an employment placement specialist, and how we can improve our service to you.

We have so many candidates in California, and we hope you all have remained safe from all the raging fires.  As we develop our blog, we will add links about resume formatting, the best ways to present yourself in an interview, and what companies are searching for in today’s market.  Thank you for your continued support and faith in our company.
